UMFS Open Table Conference

UMFS Open Table Conference

When:
February 13, 8:30a-3:30p, and February 14, 8:30a-12p.

Location:
The conference will be held at UMFS’ campus in the Dining Hall, building #11. The address is 3900 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23230. Please plan to arrive at 8:30 when registration opens so that we can begin promptly at 9. Please plan about 10 minutes for parking and walking to the building.

Details:
This conference is for representatives from any type of faith community, regional steering committees, organizations, or anyone who wants to learn how the Open Table model can build natural supports and long-term sustainability for people who have been marginalized. February 13 is designed for everyone; there will be two tracks depending on your current involvement with Open Table. February 14 is additional time designated time for church and government stakeholders to plan implementation within their communities and UMFS/Open Table staff. However, we welcome anyone interested to join us on the second day to plan with your community.

Parking:
Here is a map of campus which indicates where to park as well as which building the event is being held. If possible, please carpool with someone else to help reduce the number of overall cars that will need to be parked on campus. You’ll be parking in the front field. Please enter campus through the front entrance on West Broad Street and then look for people directing you where to park. There will be a 5 minute walk to the building; a shuttle will be running for those that need it from 8:00-9:00 am and again from 3:30-4 pm.

Current Table members: If you are just attending the Trauma Training/participating on the panel, please plan to park in the same space as the map indicates. There will not be a shuttle running at 10, but you can let Kelly know if you need accommodations.

Registration:
Please click here to register. There is no registration fee, however we do need attendees to register by February 2, 2018.

There is a WiFi network for guests to access while on campus. Please ask for the code at the registration table. Please feel free to bring a device to use throughout the day. Please do not share this code with students on our campus. You may also want to bring a pen and paper if you prefer to take notes that way.

We’re proving a light breakfast snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Coffee and water will be available all day. We have considered your dietary restrictions as listed when you registered.

We know that people like to sit with folks from different communities at events like these to get to know new people, but if possible, please sit with people from your community to help lay the ground work for community organizing.
